The Rock-A-Hula Youth Experience is a free student field trip program in Waikiki for Hawaii students ages 7–18. Ideal for schools, performing arts programs, dance studios, and youth organizations, this sponsored program offers a unique educational and enriching group experience in Honolulu.
Students will enjoy Waikiki's biggest Hawaiian show featuring hula, Tahitian, fire knife dancing, live music, and cultural storytelling inside the premier Royal Hawaiian Theater.
Qualified schools, studios, and youth groups can apply for fully sponsored admission, with limited availability in 2026.
Celebrating 15 Years of Rock-A-Hula in Hawaii
As a longtime Waikiki production, Rock-A-Hula is proud to support local students and educators with a program created to make live theater and Hawaii’s musical history more accessible—especially for groups who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
Open to Hawaii students (ages 7-18) in music, dance, voice, theater, and youth programs, this experience offers many their first opportunity to see a world-class live production.
More than just a show, it's an engaging educational experience that brings Hawaii's musical legacy to life—sparking creativity and inspiring future dreams.
The Show: Rock-A-Hula Live Experience
Step into Waikiki’s largest Hawaiian live show inside the spectacular 750-seat Royal Hawaiian Theater.
This 70-minute show takes students on a journey through time, from the 1920s to today, showcasing the evolution of Hawaii’s music and performance styles.

- Students: FREE admission (up to 30 students per group)
(Regular admission: $99 adults, $59 child) - Chaperone/Teachers: 1 FREE per 30 students
- Additional Adults: $15.00 per person

Eligibility Requirements
To participate, organizations must:
- Be based in Hawaii
- Include Students ages 7-18
- Maintain appropriate chaperone-to-student ratios
Proof of Eligibility (submit 1-2 items)
- Organization website or social media page
- School or program directory listing
- Accredited Hawaii school documentation
- 501(c)(3) documentation
- Official letter on school letterhead
- Hawaii GET Tax License
